The opening — from the trust’s Sanskrit press note of 2 August 2026
The inaugural ceremony of the eight-day Sanskrit Sambhashan workshop, held at Sanskar Tirth, Shashwat Dham under the joint auspices of the Shri Kundkund Kahan Shashwat Paramarthik Trust and the Samyakgyan Prachar-Prasar Trust, was completed in an atmosphere of great dignity. The chief aim of the workshop is to carry Sanskrit into the conduct of daily life, to strengthen the tradition of speaking it, and to quicken its wider propagation for the preservation and growth of Indian culture and its samskaras.
The chief guest was Acharya Vasudev Chamoli, a propagator of Sanskrit throughout the country and founder-president of the Shri Kamalnayan Prachya Sansthan. The proceedings were chaired by Dr. Mahavir Shastri, senior teacher at the Government Higher Secondary School, Asana, and secretary of the Shri Kundkund Kahan Shashwat Paramarthik Trust.
In his address Acharya Vasudev Chamoli said that Sanskrit is not merely a language but the very soul of the Indian knowledge tradition. A language is not mastered by the reading of books alone; the real growth of a knowledge of language comes only from daily use.
The whole programme was conducted by Dr. Tapish Shastri in pure, plain and fluent Sanskrit. At its close all the participants took the firm resolve that through the coming eight days they would, so far as they were able, converse with one another in Sanskrit alone.
